Trail Information

Air Capital Memorial Single Track

Air Cap is a short, punchy, almost 2 mile trail in West Wichita and is a City of Wichita park open to the public from dawn to dusk. It’s a great place for beginners and intermediate riders to cut their teeth on some tech and improve their jump & drop skills. Advanced features have a ride around. Please do not ride south of the marked singletrack trails, as Pawnee Prairie contains equestrian trails that are off-limits for bicycles.

El Dorado Single Track

El Dorado Lake has 2 singletrack trail loops that are currently open with about 11 miles of riding when connecting both areas. The south trail, or phase 1, is 5.5 miles of blue difficulty trail with some black features, largely within the tree canopy along the west bank of the Walnut River. Not all advanced features are marked or have a ride-around, so proceed with caution. The north trail / phase 2 is also blue difficulty and is entirely meadow but contains rock gardens and jumps. There is a paved path adjacent to phase 1 that will take you into downtown El Dorado, and if you travel on it do not venture into the golf course property along the path. A day pass is required, or an annual Kansas State Park Pass.

Fall River (Badger Creek)

If you enjoy getting lost in the woods on a bike Badger Creek is the trail for you, with most of the trail under a mature tree canopy. There are 2 loops each about 4 – 4.5 miles in length, found on either side of a low-water bridge and riding adjacent to each bank of Badger Creek. The trail ranges from green to moderate blue difficulty with some strong climbs (for Kansas) on the south trail. There are substantial rock gardens and several areas with narrow bar clearance / tree gaps. In the fall, heavy leaf cover can make this trail even more challenging. This trail is on public hunting lands. During hunting season it is wise to wear bright colors and start after 9:30 am. This is a State Park and a day pass or annual permit is required.
