Where: Miller’s Meadow, 14250 E Pawnee St, Wichita, KS, 67230
Miller’s Meadow is a 5.5 mile long trail; of which we will let the kids explore what they have energy and skill levels for.
Event Time: 10am to 2pm
Educate children about mountain biking:
• Explain the importance of wearing proper safety gear
• Familiarize children with the parts of their bikes
• Familiarize children with a dirt trail, possibly something they’ve never rode
• Teach children trail feature names
• Explain how to utilize the gears on their bikes
• Have Fun!!!
Come to the Miller’s Meadow parking lot any time between 10am and 1pm. We’ll wrap up the event at 2pm.
What to bring:
A bike, helmet, gloves, sunscreen, eye protection (sunglasses or safety glasses), athletic shoes and socks, comfortable clothes for the weather that day (maybe a jacket?) and some excitement!!
We are currently seeking interested participants (Kids and Adults) as well as volunteers for all aspects of the event including. We need volunteers to lead rides around Millers, spare kids helmets, teachers for bike parts and safety education, participation waivers signed and IMBA membership signups, snacks for the kids, minor first aid and bike goodie giveaways.
This is a great opportunity for you to pass your passion for pedaling on to kids. Plan to go mountain biking on the first Saturday in October - and bring a kid along for the ride!
