#FFFFFF">Kansas Singletrack Society has spent the last several years expanding our trail network. From the new trail at Santa Fe Lake (which we expect to triple in size soon) to a partnership with the City of Wichita which resulted in Air Cap, to reroutes and IMBA trail building classes at Horizon, we are looking to expanding mountain biking in south-central Kansas. And we have more plans for the future.
#FFFFFF">But this growth has not been without obstacles. This is expected, but we have grown to the point where the current system of individual trail stewards may not serve us best in the future. Andy and Tyler attended an IMBA regional conference last April. One of the topics covered was effective trail management.
#FFFFFF">Our entire October meeting slate will be set to addressing our current situation and looking to the future in how we manage our trails. Tyler will present a comprehensive plan to organize our trail work and build efforts in a way that will help us grow while ensuring we are still, at our heart, a trail building organization.
#FFFFFF">Please join us on October 15th for a retreat style meeting. We will be meeting at the downtown YMCA from 7:30-9:30 in their main conference room. The entire topic slate will be Tyler’s presentation and discussion.
#FFFFFF">For those of you who want to take an active role in trial building but do not want to take on 100% responsibility for a trail, this is the perfect chance to come forward and be part of the planning process. For those of you who choose to support us financially with a membership: thank you For those of you who ride our trails for free - is $30 annually really too much? Consider joining us to keep your favorite trail open and to helps us expand with new trail opportunities in the surrounding area.
