#FFFFFF">A quick clarification: There is a difference between "shared trail" and "shared space" or "shared use" in regards to Pawnee Prairie Park. KSS is not interested in sharing a trail with horse traffic. This is stated in our Position Statement point #1 d. "We oppose equestrian and mountain bike traffic using the same trails at Pawnee Prairie Park."
#FFFFFF">We do think that a 600+ acre park has enough room for "shared use." We support bicycles in the park as outlined in Position Statement point #2: "KSS supports cycling in all forms and for all users and age groups. Mountain and recreational bikes should be allowed in Pawnee Prairie Park on physically segregated trails that do not intersect, cross, nor approach any horse trails. All trails must be marked with appropriate signage"
#FFFFFF">You may see an online petition regarding "shared use" for PPP. This is put forward by a neighborhood resident of the park and not by KSS. KSS supports PPP being a "shared use" park with segregated trails.
